The Art of Philately Project- about art, community culture, mountains, stamps…and moreAbout the Artist
DB has lived fulltime in the West Kootenay since 1996. Prior to that, she travelled the world, met interesting people, collected ideas and then came home to where she currently resides in a “little log cabin in the woods” with her partner (videographer/forester/fire warden) Rik and two extraordinarily spoiled cats.
Having grown up in a family of 6 – (photographers, painters, film director,
craftsperson, potters, installation artist, dollmaker, puppeteers, art teacher, etc….(some are multi talented) artists, she has been involved in creating art and arts in the community for her whole life. Locally, regionally and provincially for the past 10+ years she has been on arts council boards and committees to further the cause of art in community.
The Art of Philately project, as well as helping her to focus on her own art, is also meant to encourage others to be creative when and wherever possible.
To get an idea of what the project encompasses, check out the very first post (“The Art of Philately”).
This project will run until October of 2009. Feel free to check back now and then to watch its progress.
Cheers,DB
